General Information
Sheet is iron material formed into plates. It is obtained by passing thick plates between rollers, that is, by rolling. After the first rolling, done hot, cold rolling is done to obtain a smooth surface. These sheets, in various thicknesses, are cut within certain standard sizes or into strips. Besides the covers of various wheeled vehicles, ship hulls and many technological applications, one of the most important uses of sheet is in electrical equipment. Bundles of silicon sheets form the core of the rotor and stator windings of electric motors and of transformer windings. The most important property of silicon sheets is that, thanks to the silicon they contain, they minimize magnetic losses and thus increase efficiency.
Perforation and Coating
Carbon steel is one of the most preferred raw materials in the manufacture of perforated metal products. Because it is not resistant to wear, it is either used with a protective coating or used where wear is not a problem. For coating, paint or powder coating can be used after perforation, and it can also be produced with zinc and alumina based coating materials (aluminized, hot-dip galvanized, galvannealed, etc.).
Steel Types
Commercial Steel (hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, aluminized): Low-cost steel; has good forming, drawing and welding properties. It shows average durability and is more prone to metal fatigue, wear and deterioration. Forming Steel (hot rolled, cold rolled): Has mechanical properties suitable for forming and shaping, and shows improved production performance compared to commercial steel. Drawing Steel (galvanized): Has lower strength and a higher elongation coefficient than commercial steel. Recommended where commercial steel is subject to cracking or weakening due to stress during drawing.
